The Nakamichi 600 II was introduced in the mid-to-late 1970s as an evolution of the original Nakamichi 600 cassette deck. Known for its striking horizontal layout and studio-inspired aesthetics, the 600 II offered refined circuitry and improved reliability over its predecessor. Nakamichi had already built a reputation as the world’s leader in cassette technology, and the 600 II carried forward that legacy, combining minimalist design with high-end tape performance. Today, it is considered a classic of vintage audio design, valued both for its looks and its sound quality.

The Nakamichi 600 II is a 2-head stereo cassette deck featuring a precision transport system with DC servo motor drive for stability. Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz (metal tape).
