The Sansui B-1000 and C-1000 were introduced in the late 1970s as part of Sansui’s move into high-end separate components. The C-1000 was a dedicated preamplifier, offering precise tone control, phono stage, and multiple input options. The B-1000 was the matching power amplifier, delivering clean, authoritative sound with the reliability Sansui was famous for. Together, they were designed to appeal to serious audiophiles who wanted separates instead of integrated receivers, giving more flexibility and higher performance.
Technical Specifications
• Sansui C-1000: Stereo preamplifier with phono MM input, aux, tuner, and tape loops. Tone controls for bass, treble, and balance. Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz, THD: <0.05%, signal-to-noise ratio approx. 90 dB. Dimensions approx. 430 mm (W) x 135 mm (H) x 300 mm (D), weight about 6 kg.
• Sansui B-1000: Stereo power amplifier rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, stable at 4 ohms, with wide frequency response 10 Hz – 50 kHz. THD less than 0.03%, damping factor: >100. Dimensions approx. 430 mm (W) x 150 mm (H) x 350 mm (D), weight around 13 kg. When paired, the B-1000 and C-1000 offered an audiophile-grade Sansui system with excellent separation and musical detail.
